CSA Week 8

Our field tomatoes are just starting to produce. With all this heat I am a bit surprised that they haven't taken off earlier! In this week's bounty you'll taste our sweet sungolds from the field and red slicers from our hoophouse. We'll have a few other varieties for sale at the stand on Thursday so  be sure to stop over and see what we'll have. As the plants begin to ripen more we'll be sure to share the bounty in your CSA.

Your vegetable harvest this week........

Sweet Red Carmen Peppers
White Onions
Fresh Basil
Hoophouse Red Slicing Tomatoes
Field Sungold Tomatoes
Orange Carrots
Green Kohlrabi without the greens
White and Purple Eggplant
Pea Shoots

Your fruit harvest this week..........

Peaches
Nectarines
Blueberries
All fruit is grown by Mick Klug Farm in St. Joseph Michigan. Next week we may see
melons and raspberries!

Your Carmen red peppers have a great sweet taste to them that you'll enjoy eating fresh. If you choose to cook with these a simple coat of olive oil and putting them on the grill will add to any dish. If you have a slightly green pepper set them on your counter and in a day or two they will turn red, the more red they are the sweeter they become, enjoy!
