The farm in your kitchen.............

What have we been up to?

Where your early carrots, turnips, cucumbers and potatoes grew this spring!
Chris has prepped the beds and is (shown here) rolling newly seeded beds.
Soon enough we'll see salad mix, radishes, turnips and arugula.

Colin and Keegan harvest carrots on Tuesday morning after the rain.

Colin harvests lush purslane, a weed to some but a great green for the rest of us.

Nothing better than a juicy tomato on hot day to quench your thirst.

Feverfew, a beautiful perennial that has been used in our
flower bouquets and harvested for drying the flower heads and leaves to be used
in tea and in our hand milked and hand made goat milk soap.

Colin harvesting red peppers. We should see these in your shares in the next
week or so as the plants are just starting produce.

Our crew harvesting green swiss chard on Tuesday morning.

Joe flame weeds the newly seeded beds, this will kill any tiny weeds before germinating.

Sungolds will be for sale at our farm market stand on Thursday from 4 to 7, don't miss out!

Michelle harvests a fresh bucket of lovely sunflowers.

Shade cloth covers the young lettuce transplants.

How bad is all this heat and drought? The pests thrive on this type of weather
and has done a number on some of our crops. Here is a leaf of a Red Russian Kale.
We hope that this plant will turn around by late fall!

Colin, Keegan, Danny, Dallas and Duncan seeding in the greenhouse.
These transplants will be ready for your fall harvest.

Late Tuesday morning parsnip harvest.

Organic pest control.

This is Dallas's last week as he heads back to school, thanks for your work!

Come out and join us this Thursday at our farm market stand!
We will be open from 4 to 7.

On Saturday our farm market stand will only have eggs for sale.
They will be available from 8 am until 2 pm.
Eggs will be in a cooler under the tent and the " honor " payment box
 will be on the table.

Eggs are $5.50 a dozen and exact payment will be necessary as no one will be there to make change.
Cash is accepted as well as personal checks made out to Tempel Farms Organics.

Eat Well!
Your farmers,
Tania and Chris Cubberly along with our crew, Tomas, Michelle, Duncan, Joe, Dallas,
 Collin, Danny and Keegan!
